On Saturday, September 25 (my due date),  I woke up and went to the bathroom as always and noticed I'd lost my mucus plug. William was at his grandmother's cutting down a tree that had fallen during the hurricane a couple weeks before. I had already told William that me and Heaven would come over when we got up, so we got dressed and went over there. As soon as we got there I told William that it would be soon because I'd lost my mucus plug. We sat around a while and went home.

At about 3pm I was sitting here at the computer talking to Leslie when I had my first contraction. She told me I should go ahead and call William and tell him to come home, I knew there was no need yet. I didn't really have anymore contractions until about 5pm. The contractions were really irregular, ranging from 3-10 minutes apart. At 6:45 they all of a sudden became VERY regular at 3 minutes apart, I waited until about 7:15 to call the hospital though, wanted to make sure they were going to stay at 3 minutes apart.

I called the hospital and Dr. Ashurst (the doctor on call for my doctor) said to come on in to the hospital. I had to change clothes, gather a few things, change Heaven's clothes and a bunch of other stuff, so we left the house right at 8pm. We had to stop and get gas and a roll of film too, so it was about 10 after 8 when we finally got moving to the hospital. Heaven was VERY tired, 8pm is her bedtime, so I was in labor and singing Barney songs all the way to the hospital, LoL! It was the only way I could keep her quiet!

We got to the hospital right at 9pm and when they checked me I was already 4cm! My contractions were still not too bad. I was dilated enough for an epidural, but I had to get a certain amount of fluid through the IV and have blood work run before I could get it. My mom was there helping with Heaven, and thank God she was. My contractions all of a sudden went from me being able to handle them to me screaming with them!

The next time they checked me I was 6cm and soon after I was able to get my epidural. It wasn't much longer and I was 8cm then complete. I had already warned my nurses not to tell me to push until the doctor was there unless they wanted to deliver a baby. So I had to wait for what seemed like forever for Dr. Ashurst to get there. With about 4 pushes I had a beautiful baby girl at 1:12am! Heaven was there for her birth, she was exhausted, but she was there.
